Due to the vast amount of information to cover for the evening the Executive Director started with her report and handed out copies to the participants.

1. The Colorado Springs clinic had 38 girls in attendance; Susan Stewart and her players gave a great clinic.

2. Clinic at All City Stadium February 23 th - see website for details.

3. Kate announced that CGLA needs the club administrators to submit copies of coaches US Lacrosse Level 1 Coaching certificates with their team registration.

4. CGLA mandatory coaches clinic February 27 th at;

the Denver School for Science and Technology

Please tell your coaches to arrive early as parking close to the school is very limited.

5. Rich Morgan gave a tutorial on MYLacrosseleague.com. Rich provided a hand out on signing on as an administrator and as a coach. This is a very rough summary:

  • Admins assigned a password and ID. DO NOT CHANGE THE PASSWORD
  • Keep the assigned password so Rich can help you when you forget it
  • Add teams by coaches last name (make not of coaches with more than one team, give different names. Coaches last name = Team name
  • Age = Grade
  • Class level = Div. I
  • Enter team as a travel team
  • Press ADD TEAM
  • Put in Game Fields only
  • If no coach enter TBA - can still schedule the team without a coach
  • Admin can change time on their field, but only their field. When rescheduling use Game # to identify the game. Important information: game #, original date and time, original opponent, where you want the change made to.

6. Officials will not use Mylacrosseleague; CWLOA will post the officials and schedule on their website

7. Discussion on 6 th grade checking. Girls youth rules allow Level A to play modified checking. Rich Morgan made a motion to allow 6 th grade gold to play modified checking. Motion passed 13 in favor/4 against.

8. Waivers needed for 7 th grade players on an 8 th grade team.

Recommendation was made for all coaches and administrators to read the rules posted on cglax.com

9. Enforcement of sideline managers - officials will check for a sideline manager at the start of each game. The game will not start until sideline managers have been identified. The time to find a sideline manager will be taken out of the game time.

Sideline managers to email Marc Luckett with problems and complaints marc@girlslacrosse.org

10. Admins need to contact Mary Cate Slay at USLacrosse for sideline badges and purple cards.

Contact: mslay@uslacrosse.org or 410-235-6882 ext. 149

11, Rosters - each team should exchange rosters at the start of each game.

12 . 6 th grade ALL- STARS - Voted on by teammates; put together 4 teams to go to Vail and play 3 games. Please discuss with your teams, this is a fun program with great coaching!

13. Check USLacrosse.org or the rules for the field marking and dimensions for the 4 th grade teams. Smaller field 50 by 25 yards.

14. March 15 Scrimmages at Lorenz Park

  • Used as training for new officials
  • New players will get a game situation
  • Parent clinics held on-site "ask-a-ref"
  • Cost determined by number of teams
  • Sign up the end of February (coming soon)

15. Field Consolidation

Many clubs are restricted by park district rules and/or insurance to only being allowed to use a field if one of the clubs is on the field. The goals is to consolidate to 4 or 5 fields each weekend. CWLOA is committed to providing refs for 5 fields.

Home team will need to bring their own equipment. Home team will be shown on Mylacrosseleague.org.

Sunday will only be used to schedule games if necessary, based on the number of teams and fields.

16. Preliminary schedule will not be able to account for each clubs spring break

17. Discussion of clubs requiring background checks on coaches. USLacrosse is considering requiring this. Discussion led by FBI agent discussed the use of background check. He recommended using social security numbers to minimize the number of false positives.

18. Chantal to help Kate with cards for R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
